New Entry / Inter Format

Entry (new EUSL players only) Swiss-system tournament where teams will face teams with an equal or similar record to them. For example, after 3 rounds of games, a 3-0 team would face another 3-0 team, a 2-1 vs a 2-1 team and a 0-2 team vs another 0-2 team. This would make entry flexible with how many rounds need to be completed as not each team is required to play each other once. You could end Entry at any point. The benefit to this is that it would make entry much more engaging for new players. They would be up against a team of a similar record each week giving them more opportunities to win or have close games. Inter Inter could remain basically the same but as part of this suggestion to increase overall engagement with the weaker teams in the community, I suggest it's reduced to 1 game vs each team in the regular season to reduce the overall time it takes to allow for a qualification mini bracket. Inter Playoff Qualification The example above assumes there are 10 Inter teams. 6 automatically qualify; 4 do not. Inter 6-10 play a mini bracket for the last 2 Inter playoff seeds. The losers go into the Entry playoffs. You could change these numbers any which way but the main idea of this is to increase engagement to keep players in the community and filter out teams stomping Entry earlier to increase everyone's fun. It could be argued teams would intentionally throw games to get a chance of winning entry still but I mean.... that's on them.. what losers lol. Also if it's very clear someone has thrown a game / match fixed just have very strict rules and punishments regarding it.

Streaming arrangements

In terms of streaming, we understand at the minute there are less streamers and people wanting to stream. The league is less spoke about and we are currently mid season and there seems little to no interest in how teams are doing. In slap 1 the games came on a first come first served basis for being streamed, which yes is not so possible now, but even if it was so simple that you cant arrange the game the same time as another game in your division, gives more chances for divisional games to be streamed. Especially in lower leagues, one of the best and most exciting things is a streamer streaming your game and you are put on the show its great. When I joined, the fact I could get my entry game shown felt great and you wanted to perform and it got others talking about the game. I understand the prioirty in pro and wanting people to play the games, but realistically if a 20 minute slot is taken then just do it 20 mins earlier or later, you have 2 weeks to play a game. With 4 divisions we cant say first come first served, so lets just have it first come first served for each division, and in the rarer case where you have all 4 divisions playing a game at the same time, then sure prioritise in order (pro, challenge, intermediate, entry) This would mean that people can have their game streamed more and people will actually be able to watch games. How thing are at the minute it seems like out of all the games in the league about a third of the pro games actually get streamed. Yes this would be easier with more streamers which we need, but if we have more of a range of divisions and chances for people to get shown on stream they will be more active in the league, try more and get people talking about games.

New playoff format

Here is a mockup format for the playoffs. The reason I created this was because the league goes on for 2+ months ish, And alot of teams throughout the league wont have the competitive attitude or feeling of qualifying or trying to get as high in the league as possible. Last season pro division, had 11 players and 8 qualify for playoffs, which is more than 70%. in others league too there isnt much fight at all or worry about where you are in the league just because 20 matches or so in a season only matter for a playoff seed. In this example, if there is 12 teams and 6 qualify for playoffs, the first 2 as you can see automatically proceed 1 round. this not only motivates people to qualify but also pushes the best players to get better aswell as everyone else to get top 2. in other sports such as football and the premier league, people fight for the title aswell as fighting for european qualification in the top4, this format has proved to work in many places :D https://imgur.com/a/tWUkMUK
